Last day of Chinese New Year

So the 8th day of chinese new year is another big day for the Chinese of Penang. Penang has a lot of hokkien Chinese. The story goes that the Hokkien saved themselves from extermination by hiding in the sugar cane fields on the 8th day after the new year.  So people stay up till midnight, cook more food, do more praying, and burn more incense to remember it, but this time the food is outside.
